I must say that those times really aren't average at all. In grade 9 and 10 the person winning 200m was usually running a 24 second race. These were some fast guys. Even OFSSA there would be people running 23's and that but these are exceptional athletes. A lot of olympic level guys even run a 21 on a bad race. Sep 16, 2009 · Last year at this time, I could only swim one pool-length and had to stop…out of breath. Coach Suzanne is spot on. Your first tri swim might be super slow (mine was 14 minutes after three months of swimming practice). The second gets better (12 min), and then you’ll settle into your pace (10 min).

Hi, my 9 year old son is quite fast (no, not claiming a future olympian here) but is not keen on joining a club as he thinks he will be slow in comparison. Can someone tell me the average freestyle time for 50M on a 25M pool for a 9 year old please? Hi, My just turned 8 year old daughter loves her swimming and we regularly attend a local club where she competes in the 25m distances for all four styles. She doesn’t always win but when against her own age, does pretty much win. She was age champion there last year and others tell me she is likely to be again this year.

Mar 01, 2014 · The age grade percentage is a calculation of a time relative to the world's best a given age for whatever distance. So a 50% does not mean 50th percentile like in a SAT score. Average for a male under 40 might be 70 to 80 seconds for 400 m. From my minimal research and experience i believe i swim pretty slow. The pool at the Y is 25m. I average about 30secs to cover that. Bear in mind im doing the breast stroke. I do it in about 10-11 strokes. But, when i was doing the freestyle it was pretty much the same time so the question is still valid. I see some people at the pool who can fly. I've been swimming three for four times a week for 30-40 min for about six months, and I've gone from barely being able to swim a lap to doing just under a mile over a workout (broken into a set of 8 x 200m). I swim just over 1min for 50m, so about 5 min for 200m. With rest it's just over 45 minutes. Note: I am also very old at the age of 37.
